Product overview

The LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI Kit for grades K–2 is a classroom-ready kit that lets a group of four young students explore computing by building and coding real LEGO® models. Each kit contains 276 LEGO® bricks, building instructions, a single motor, a colour sensor, a connection card and a USB charging cable, all stored in a sturdy stackable box.

Students program their models in Coding Canvas, a lightweight web app that is also available on iOS, using icon-based blocks suited to early readers. Lessons open with a PIN, so no student logins are needed and projects are saved locally. AI-based computer vision activities introduce what AI can and cannot do in a safe, age-appropriate way.

The free Teacher Portal offers 30 lessons in six units (Basics, Hardware, Events, Sequences, Loops, and AI & Data), each with four lessons and a design challenge. Ready-made classroom presentations, facilitation notes and built-in formative assessments help each lesson fit into a single class period.
